Camp Night 1

Camp Gilchrist.JPG

Gilchrist, Oregon

Gilchrist, in northern Klamath County, located along U.S. Highway 97 about fifty miles south of Bend, was the last industrial company town in Oregon owned entirely by a family. Located in the Deschutes National Forest, the town was built to accommodate the factory, workers’ housing, and commercial facilities for the Gilchrist Timber Company.  We will be camping in this beautiful town on the school field.  The school was built as a New Deal Public Works Administration project in 1939. Every five years, the company repainted the houses and shopping complex “Gilchrist Brown.” For decades, the town’s population remained at around 600 people.

Nightly camp spots will be set up in a grassy location with hot showers and restrooms nearby. On mornings 2 and 4, you'll pack up your gear and drop it off for us to transport to the next spot.  When you finish for the day, you can pick up your gear from our transport trucks and get your camp set up.

Be sure to check out the VIP Camping service where, for only $200, we'll provide the tent and daily set-up and tear-down so you won't have the think about it before or after your ride.

Camp Night 2 & 3

night 2.jpeg

Oakridge Greenwaters Park

You get two nights in this beautiful camping spot. Greenwaters Park offers exquisite views of the clean, green Willamette River. Miles of lawn, huge fir trees located along the beautiful river make this camp location so good we had to double down for two nights.  Oakridge is known as one of the best mountain biking destinations in North America but we have a little secret.  The gravel is just as good.  Shhhh.  Don’t tell anyone.  Nightly game time, cold New Belgium Beer, fire pits and marshmallow roasting will be on tap as you relax and recover for the big push on day four back over the Cascade Mountain Range.

McKenzie Community Track & Field Grounds

Camp McKenzie is located in the tiny community of Blue River, Oregon a stone through away from the McKenzie River.  Surrounded by thick forests you will experience the lush green of the Willamette National Forest.  If this is your first time on the Trail get ready to settle in for some great food and relaxation.  In addition, we will have games set up for your entertainment like axe throwing and corn hole for anyone who has a little spunk left.  A walk down to the McKenzie River and soaking those tired legs in the clear cold waters will help revive any rider.
